Eversheds LLP is a law firm with 46 offices across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. To improve employee productivity, reinforce security best practices and reduce energy consumption, the firm partnered with Polaris Financial Technology Ltd. to develop its Remote@Desktop solution. The solution uses the company's existing BlackBerry® smartphones, a Web service on its corporate network and the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server to allow employees to securely power on, shut down and lock their office PCs remotely. The Remote@Desktop solution frees up valuable customer-facing time and has already been adopted by 30 percent of employees.

Nomura International plc

Nomura is a leading financial services group. Mobile users based in the London, UK office represented 14% of the workforce but accounted for two-thirds of the telecommunications spend. Mobile call costs were rising by 18% annually. Also, Nomura needed to comply with the UK's Financial Services Authority's (FSA) Policy Statement 10/17, which made call recording mandatory on mobile devices. Nomura implemented BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System (BlackBerry® MVS), which ensured full and on-time regulatory compliance. It also helped reduce the call spend among BlackBerry MVS users by nearly 36%, resulting in a monthly savings of £10,000 on international calling and roaming charges. Fifty percent of all mobile calls at Nomura's UK office now go out over BlackBerry MVS.

Cablevisión S.A. Argentina (Cablevisión) provides cable TV and broadband internet service for more than 3.5 million customers in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay. In the past, Cablevisión's 5,000 field technicians had difficulty staying connected with their support teams and had to log their work and inventory of supplies used by hand. Needing a reliable solution, the company deployed BlackBerry® smartphones and the Mobile II application, developed by Sensebyte Mobile. This BlackBerry solution allows technicians to confirm work orders, report on service in near real-time and update inventory even when offline. Cablevisión has significantly decreased calls to the support center while improving productivity and service.

IA Clarington Investments Inc.™ markets a wide range of investment products, including mutual funds and segregated funds managed by leading portfolio advisors across Canada. The company's secure BlackBerry® solution along with its custom application developed in-house, allows its coast-to-coast staff to capture detailed information during client meetings, coordinate between departments and receive up-to-date information on news items and marketing materials. The Enterprise Information Management System (EIMS) app extends IA Clarington's CRM functionality to its mobile users by integrating with a number of native BlackBerry features, like email, calendar and GPS functionality. It has streamlined the company's flow of information and resulted in a 21% increase in client interactions captured into the CRM system.

Gwent Frailty Consortium

The Gwent Frailty Consortium is a healthcare partnership between the Aneurin Bevan Health Board and five local authorities in Gwent, Wales, UK. To improve home care of frail and elderly patients, while reducing duplication, the Consortium equipped 200 care workers with BlackBerry® smartphones and digital pens by DevelopIQ Limited, to fill out patient care forms. Handwritten information is transferred via Bluetooth® to the BlackBerry smartphone and then to a centralized patient database using high-level encryption. With the BlackBerry solution, the Consortium has increased staff productivity by an average of 50 minutes a day, saving approximately £600,000 per year, while improving the patient experience.

To help meet its mission of providing humanitarian aid and social assistance, Argentina's Ministerio de Desarrollo Social, or Ministry of Social Development, turned to BlackBerry® smartphones and BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablets. The organization equipped 400 of its field operators and personnel in regions across the country with the devices in order to better capture and share information on critical situations, including natural disasters and health- and food-related crises. Replacing the need for projectors, computers, and photo and video cameras, the solution allows the Minister and senior ministry officials to quickly respond to community needs, speeding up decision-making while improving information accuracy.

Banesco Banco Universal C.A. deployed Banesco Móvil, a custom mobile banking application developed in partnership with Synergy Global Business C.A.®. The app allows its Venezuelan customers to securely log in to perform online banking activities from the convenience of their BlackBerry® smartphones and BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablets. The app makes it easy for customers to check balances, view statements, track account activity and pay bills, as well as receive SMS messages and promotions from the bank. High local adoption of smartphones, in particular BlackBerry smartphones, has helped make the app a huge success—already nearly 90 percent of transactions come from customers' BlackBerry devices, helping to reduce branch overcrowding and call center requests.

Venezuelan movie goers can now buy tickets and get news on upcoming features with the click of a button, thanks to Cines Unidos's app for BlackBerry® smartphones. As well as buying tickets and obtaining receipts and confirmations, the easy-to-use app, developed in partnership with Mobile Media Networks, gives users a 40-minute show-time warning and the ability to share movie schedules with friends and book dates via BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™) integration. Cines Unidos makes the app—which now has about 1.5 million users—available for download on the BlackBerry App World™ storefront, or by scanning QR codes in theater lobbies, on posters and popcorn dispensers.

With a global circulation of more than 2.4 million readers in the UK and a total of 21 global editions, OK!® Magazine UK is one of the world's leading weekly entertainment and celebrity publications. The magazine worked with London-based developer, Refresh Mobile Ltd. (Mippin) to create a BlackBerry® application across all operating systems that would offer users a native experience. Mippin developed an easy-to-use, seamless application with fast loading times and an emphasis on sharing articles, pictures and videos. The BlackBerry® 7 version integrates features of BlackBerry® Messenger 6 (BBM™ 6) and the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet displays the magazine's celebrity photos in crisp, vivid color. In the six months since its release, the BlackBerry versions of the app have accounted for 65% of the app's 280,000 total downloads.
